Alvin Allure (Alvin Addo) is an award-winning Ghanaian-American creative based in Los Angeles, who also works as a Digital Operations Manager for YouTube. He’s a self taught music producer, photographer, creative director, and storyteller, specializing in the intersection between culture and technology. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, he grew up with an affinity for art and technology and began producing music at the age of 18, after hearing “Allure” by Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams. He attended Stanford University and was a Pre-Med majoring in Human Biology, all while continuing to get more involved with music production. This time was pivotal – wanting to create and put out his own music was the catalyst for him to explore other creative avenues like graphic design, poetry and songwriting, recording & mixing, and brand identity. Alvin graduated from Stanford in 2012, and decided to get more involved in entertainment through the intersection of music and technology, which led him to Google, where he’s been able to further cultivate his professional and creative skillset through various projects. Currently his core role is a Digital Operations Manager for YouTube TV and Partner Operations, where he’s able to work on high impact, content focused initiatives for the company. Outside of his core role, Alvin has worked on various YouTube music initiatives and internal design projects ranging from concerts with indie & major label artists, to facilitating relationships between the company and artists.
As a second generation Ghanaian-American, Addo has always been interested in hip hop culture, fashion, and storytelling from different lenses, and these are themes that continue to be sources of inspiration. His primary mission is to empower creatives and use content creation and curation to elevate culture. “I want to be able to create memorable work and enable a generation of creators to tell their stories in the best ways possible.”
Alvin is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs) and serves on the Black @ YouTube core team in the Global Brand & Creative Lead role.
